The modern city is shaped by complex historical, cultural, social, political and economic factors and processes. Their impact on urban development and quality of life in them is affected by area planning - both positively and negatively. It is now clear that urban planning defines the quality of life of a city´s population and, if bad, may lead to city´s degradation.
This applies to both cities in developed European countries as well as emerging cities in Central Europe. Exchanging approaches, experience and processes in the field of urban planning and area development will be the main subject of the conference.
